BlueScope Construction Secures its Third Consecutive Sourcewell Contract

Date:

BlueScope Construction has announced its third four-year Sourcewell contract in the category of Pre-Engineered Structures with Associated Materials and Services.

With this new supplier contract, BlueScope Construction will be able to continue offering best-in-class new facility construction and renovations to local, county, and state government agencies, as well as educational and nonprofit organizations, until 2027. This new contract was given to BlueScope Construction, the only design-build, turnkey contractor.

Sourcewell is a premier government organization that specializes in collaborative purchasing. Sourcewell, as procurement experts, pools the purchasing power of 50,000 government, educational, and nonprofit institutions. It has awarded over 400 contracts that were competitively requested.

“I would like to emphasize to other municipality leadership to make it a team effort. Across the board this was a team effort,” remarked Jean Krack, borough manager of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, for fifteen years. “Sourcewell came to the table and allowed us to stay under the timeframe that we were under and under the budget. I don’t know if that would have happened with another entity; they made it happen. Both projects, the recreation center and fire station, came within the budget. I’m very glad to say the projects came in on time and on budget.”

BlueScope Construction is a full-service, design-build, turnkey general contractor that has executed over 1,100 federal projects. Our services include turnkey, design-build services, material-erect solutions, site preparation, and installation for both new and renovated facilities. BlueScope Construction works with nearly 2,000 contractors across the United States and Canada, guaranteeing that the work is completed by local designers, subcontractors, and vendors.

The city of Urbana, Illinois, has collaborated with BlueScope Construction to construct a 23,500-square-foot multipurpose facility using its Sourcewell membership. Vince Gustafson, Deputy Director of Operations for the City of Urbana Department of Public Works, stated, “Through the design-build process with BlueScope Construction, we were able to maximize our specific needs to our project budget, and ended up with as much square footage and under-roof space as we possibly could.” Gustafson added, “Had we followed a traditional procurement process, it could’ve easily added six-to-eight months before we would’ve had a contract in-hand.”

BlueScope Construction has previously completed projects for Sourcewell members such as government and educational administrative buildings, maintenance and storage facilities, police and fire stations, community fitness centers and indoor practice facilities, K through University facilities, healthcare facilities, and aircraft hangars, among other things, for both new construction and renovation contracts.
