Kodiak’s market reach in the Northwest will be expanded with the acquisition of DHI, which provides building materials and lumber, doors and windows, moulding and millwork, and more.

Diamond Home Improvement is a locally owned and run home improvement retailer with sites in Klamath Falls and Grants Pass, Oregon.

Tim Steiner and his brother Jay founded DHI in 2000 with the goal of offering high-quality service at reasonable pricing to Oregon’s building community.

“Tim Steiner built a 22-year track record of success by combining deep industry expertise, long standing client relationships, and solutions that address local needs,” Kodiak’s chief executive officer, Steve Swinney, stated.

“This acquisition strengthens our ability to serve the Pacific Northwest and increase our capabilities in the Southern Oregon area and align us with one of the region’s most highly regarded home improvement companies.”

“Kodiak has been successful in extending its general lumber operations in the Pacific Northwest and has the right focus, assets, and capabilities to realize the full potential of Diamond Home Improvement and its strong market presence. Tim Steiner built the best team and an industry legacy through DHI, and we will continue to support that legacy with local autonomy, customer focus, and innovation in the building materials space.” Kodiak’s senior vice president of general lumber, Kelly Fox, said.

Tim Steiner joined his family firm, Lumberjack, before starting Diamond Home Improvement, where he gained a love of business and a passion for servicing customers and employees in the home improvement industry.

Tim died on October 16, 2022, but his legacy lives on through his company, family, and profound commitment in the Southern Oregon region.

Following Tim’s death, John Steiner will become President of DHI.

“My uncle founded the company as a customer-first operation, and joining Kodiak gives us more resources that we can use to better serve the business and people that count on us.,” Diamond Home Improvement’s general manager, John Steiner, added.

“It was his vision of DHI as a premium service for the home improvement industry that set the foundation for what this company has become today. My team and I are committed to embodying his drive for success, generosity, and passion through the future of Diamond Home Improvement.”
