Westlake Royal Donates Siding, Trim to Accessible Home Remodel

Date:

Westlake Royal Building Products USA Inc. (Westlake Royal), a Westlake company, has donated siding and trim products to Rescuing Families, Inc., a nonprofit organization that specializes in remodeling the homes of people with physical disabilities in order to make them more accessible, safe, and comfortable.

The donation and installation will be featured on PBS’s “Family to the Rescue,” which will return for a second season in the fall of 2023.

Westlake Royal donated Foundry 7′′ Split Shake siding in the color Golden Straw, as well as Rabbeted White Royal PVC Corners, Starter Strip, Historic Window Trim Sill and Trimboard, in collaboration with its Long Island distributor partner New Castle Ronkonkoma. The Franklin Square, New York, home is being restored to increase accessibility and safety for the family who lives there. Members of the Westlake Royal crew were also on hand to help with the installation, which took place in the latter week of June.

“Family to the Rescue” follows Rescuing Families on their mission to better the lives of disabled individuals. Almost 50 million disabled people in the United States require access to one-of-a-kind house construction and customized design. They enhance the lives of families that feel forgotten and increase awareness of options that are available to them by taking an entirely different approach to house design.

“We are humbled and honored to donate Foundry siding and trim to the deserving family and contractors who work with Rescuing Families,” said Steve Booz, vice president of marketing for Westlake Royal Building Products. “It is extremely important to us to make homes safe and accessible for people with disabilities, and we are confident that our products will be low maintenance and durable, ensuring that these families do not need to worry about upkeep or renovations after installation.”

“We are so grateful to Westlake Royal for their generous donation of top-quality siding and trim,” said Vinny Centauro, co-founder of Rescuing Families. “We always want to make sure that the products we use are low-maintenance and long-lasting, so that the families don’t have to worry about maintenance.” We want to give our family no effort while simultaneously making the house accessible to their unique needs.”

“From our work as contractors and our experience as caregivers, we have seen that when a person is ill, has a mental or physical disability, or is aging, their home often becomes an unsafe environment for a variety of reasons.” “We see people who are no longer able to thrive in their homes and even become afraid of their own homes,” said Gina Cantone-Centauro, co-founder of Rescuing Families. “We are able to work on projects that affect the overall quality of life of our community’s most vulnerable with the help of our partners like Westlake Royal and the community.”
