Date:

Sherwin-Williams has launched a new biannual approach to the yearly color trend report, the online Colormix Forecast 2024, Anthology: Volume One.

Arlington Coal and Lumber Company - Decking, Lumber, and Building Materials in Greater Boston Massachusetts (MA)

This reoccurring color reference will switch each year with the brand’s normal style and trend narrative. Looking ahead to 2024, the inaugural Anthology collection delves into the meaning of four chromatic families, their role in waking current aesthetics, and what their future holds.

The curated collection will feature 48 hand-selected hues divided into four palettes: blues and greens, reds and purples, deeps and darks, and delicate tints. Anthology, which is organized by color family, is a handy reference for designers, homeowners, and industry experts alike.

“Through the launch of Anthology, we are thrilled to diversify our yearly color forecasting report to show the depth behind each color trend for the coming year,” said Sue Wadden, Sherwin-Williams’ director of color marketing. “In releasing a new volume of the Anthology collection every other year, we hope to bring new color insight to the distinct chromatic families that our designers, industry pros, and savvy DIYers have come to know and love. These palettes–organized by color family for ease of use–will represent the beautiful shifts we are seeing within the world of color here at Sherwin-Williams.”

The palettes in Anthology: Volume One are as follows:

Palette No. 1the union of blues and greens
This palette is described by Sherwin-Williams as follows: The palette revolves around a global color story that gracefully mixes throughout a variety of organic gray-blues to bluish-greens, from barely there to bold and vivid. Natural influences provide a soothing-yet-energizing movement of soft to dark tones.

Palette No. 2the crimson and purple poems
This palette is described by Sherwin-Williams as follows: The palette goes from warm red tones to gentle and joyful pinks and purples in a display of lively and nostalgic pops. The palette, which is balanced by natural earthy tones and will remain popular until 2023, offers understated and expressive hues to elevate any room.

Palette No. 3a gathering of the deep and the dark
This palette is described by Sherwin-Williams as follows: Use this variety of dark and dramatic tones in contrast with colored light or gilded metallic elements to create a daring and strong environment. While the richly saturated dark tones evoke mystery and intrigue, they also serve as a soothing refuge.

Palette No. 4a study in subtle hues
This palette is described by Sherwin-Williams as follows: Step into this palette of muted and airy tones to escape the incessant distractions and demands on the senses – a minimalist’s joy. The gentle tints, which are tempered by warm and cool undertones, provide a sense of calm sophistication.
