Restaurant Employee Spits on Customer’s Food during Argument, Gets Dismissed

Date:

It has always been said that you shouldn’t be rude to the waiter or anyone in food service because you never know what they might do with your food while they are preparing that in the kitchen.

Of course, spitting on customers’ food or tampering with it is against the law but we just have to be careful because the store employees also know that not every spot in the kitchen is covered by CCTV or they could just do something with the food that might not be noticed on camera.

But one restaurant employee in downtown Missoula recently went viral after openly spitting on her customers’ food, following an argument that the customer claimed to have racist origins.

Using the Facebook account ShaeLynn MadPlume, the customer shared a video of the altercation which showed a rather angry store employee at Pita Pit Missoula who appeared to be giving them a devilish grin as they argued in front of the counter which showed some shredded vegetables placed in various containers.

According to the customer, they arrived at the restaurant at 2AM but that wasn’t the problem because the store closes at 3AM and it was obvious (as you can see in the video) that there was still a lot of food available for new customers.

The customer did not mention what they were fighting about but said that the woman was ‘racist’ and was complaining that “she was having a bad day and didn’t want to be at work.”

In the midst of the argument, one of the customers dared the employee to spit on their food. With her judgment clouded by her anger, she accepted the angry dare. What she didn’t know is that one of the customers had caught the action on camera and later posted it on Facebook.

The post quickly went viral. While many people didn’t also take the customer’s side, many were displeased that the restaurant employee spat on the food. Whether it was caught on camera or not was beside the point; it’s something that she shouldn’t have done. Period.

After the post went viral, Pita Pit Missoula issued a statement.

There is no excuse whatsoever for the type of behavior shown by an employee that I can assure you is no longer working for us. This is an owner run store. We work here forty plus hours per week, but we are not in during all hours of operation. This employee’s behavior does not represent who we are as a family or a business. It also does not represent the Missoula community.
